How to insert the Site Header

Component Properties

The Site Header Component enables authorized users to display the title of the site and company logo. Any design updates performed on the site header are simultaneously reflected when it is viewed.

The advantages of using the Site Header Component are:

Reflect your company's branding across all subsites and pages
(Note: company logo is uploaded and managed via the Admin of the intranet)
Embed Search or other applications to be visibly seen within the site header

Insert Site Header

To insert the Site Header Component:

Select the SITE FRAMEWORK category under the Components tab from the Editing Toolbar
Select the Site Header Component to drag and drop within a cell.

In this Example, two applications have been set to display on the right of the Site Header. This can be configured in Component Properties.

You can also select just one application to display.

Component Properties

Authorized users are given the ability to edit the properties of the Site Header Component. By editing the properties the authorized user can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component within the site.

The editing of the properties is divided into 3 tabs:

General Properties
Allows users to enable and disable general styling and formatting properties.
Component Properties
Allows users to enable and disable properties that are specific to the Site Header Component eg. application selection.
Template Properties
These properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of a component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed.

General
General properties are related to the appearance of the component within its nominated location on a content page. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom sections of the component's boundary.

Border Width
Default Value: 2px
The border width sets the border width around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border applied around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Component
Component properties are related to the specific component's visual appearance and functionality within the site. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Application Selection
Default Value: No Application
Select from the drop-down menu an application or specific content to display on the right of the site header

Template
The Template properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited via page editing. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Inline Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component's content can be modified from the default content provided via the template.

Allow Sharing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use within the site.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved to its current position (drag and drop).

Allow Removal
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be removed from the current location.
