Managing Pages

iD CMS Pages are managed from their respective iD CMS Folder. Security settings govern who can view, write and approve page content

Actions Menu

The Actions menu offers options to the individual page that you're currently editing. These options are Edit Properties, Move, Delete or Revert the page.

To access the Actions menu, navigate to the page you wish to edit and then select the Edit Page option from the toolbar. You will be taken to Edit Mode for the page and be presented with the option to select Actions as shown below.

From here you can select from the following 4 options:

Edit Properties - allows you to access the page settings such as title, description, owners and version control

Move Page - allows you to relocate page(s) from one folder or subsite to another

Delete Page - allows you to remove and delete existing page(s)

Revert Page - allows you to go back to a previous version of the page

Edit PropertiesEdit Properties allows you to view/modify the details of the current page. Properties related to the page are managed via the following categories; Details, Security, Owner(s), Version Control and Discussion

Details:
Update the Details of the page including;

Title: Name of the page
URL: The link or address to access the page
Landing Page: Set the default page of the folder
Template: The current template the page is associated to. Select Update Template to update the page template
Description: Update to include a useful description of the page which will appear in search results when viewed
#Channels: Enter a #Channel to categorize and post into a Channel feed

@Mentions: include @mentions to users to notify people of the page

Publish; select Immediately to publish the page instantly or select Scheduled Date to set a future published date.
Set Expiry Date; to set an expiry date on the page

Metadata; set Metadata on the page to increase findability through searching

Security:
Specify the security for the page. This dictates who can read, modify and delete the page.
Visit the Security section for more information about security

Owner(s):
Specify the Page Owner(s). To add or remove owners, use the Add Owner or Remove Owner buttons.

Version Control:
Allows the user to revert to an existing version. To revert to an existing version select the Radio Button of the relevant version and select the Revert button.
To view an existing version select the View link located on the right of the relevant version.

Discussion:
Here page contributors can leave comments for the page. Selecting Submit will post your username, post date and time.

Move Page(s)

A page can be moved either when editing the page or in the folder view. The following explains the 2 methods of moving a page or a group of pages.

Move Page(s) via Folder View

Navigate to the existing folder that contains the page(s) you wish to move
A list of pages will be visible. From here, page(s) can be selected via the checkbox located on the left of the pages listed. Select the page(s) you wish to move
Then select Move from the Actions bar located above the Items list
A Move popup will be initiated where you can select the Subsite and folder to move the page to.
Once the destination folder(s) have been selected, click OK to move the page(s) to the new destination(s)

Move Page via Edit Page Mode

Navigate to the page you wish to move
Go to the Editing Toolbar at the top of the page and select Edit Page where you will be taken to Edit Mode
Select Actions from the Editing Toolbar
Select Move Page
A Move popup will be initiated where you can select the Subsite and folder to move the page to.
Once the destination folder has been selected, click OK to move the page to the new destination

Delete Page(s)

A page can be deleted either when Editing the Page or at the folder view. The following explains the 2 methods of deleting a page or pages.

Delete Page(s) via Folder View

Navigate to the existing folder that contains the page(s) you wish to delete
A list of pages will be visible. From here, page(s) can be selected via the checkbox located on the left of the pages listed. Select the page(s) you wish to delete
Then select Delete from the Actions bar located above the Items list
A Delete confirmation will be initiated. Select the OK button to delete the page or Cancel if you wish to not go ahead with the deletion.

Delete Page via Edit Page Mode

Navigate to the page you wish to move
Go to the Editing Toolbar at the top of the page and select Edit Page where you will be taken to Edit mode.
Select Actions from the Editing Toolbar
Select Delete Page
A Delete confirmation will be initiated. Select the OK button to delete the page or Cancel if you wish to not go ahead with the deletion.

Revert Page

Pages can be reverted provided you have been granted the Front End Security of "Editor" or above.

Follow the instructions below to revert a page:

Navigate to the page you wish to revert.
Go to the Editing Toolbar at the top of the page and select Edit Page where you will be taken to Edit mode.
Select Actions from the Editing Toolbar
Select Revert Page
Selecting the Revert Page option will be taken to the editing state of the last saved version of the layout.
Note: All subsequent changes will be lost.

Checking for Broken Links

The iD CMS Link Checker runs a report of broken and/or valid links (internal and/or external) present in the Formatted Text Component (the Rich Text Box) and Quick Links Component of your iD CMS pages. The Link Checker then generates a report which is emailed to the requesting Administrator.

The Link Checker will run reports against a single or multiple iD CMS folders for the following:

Broken Links Report
Successful Links Report
Broken And Successful Links Report

Note:

Your intranet SMTP server must be configured for this feature to work

A Superuser can turn off the External Links checking facility, if not required. See Config Setting, Link Checker External Links Checking - set to False.

Running a Link Checker Report

Go to the subsite where you intend to run the report via, Administration > Subsite > iD CMS > Advanced > Link Checker
The Link Checker Wizard will open

3. Here, select the component types you want to run the report on Formatted Text, Quick Links, All of the Above

4. Folders confirms the subsites and folders to be searched

5. Confirm the type of report you want to run:

6. Verify the details. Select Finish

7. The report will now be emailed to you, sample report shown below.
