Employee Training

Adding a new coursePlease, login to The Admin

to complete the following steps.

Select Manage Courses from the Employee Training menu
In the folder list, click the applicable folder
Click Add Course
Tick the applicable checkbox to add the course to additional folders (Note: that it will be the same version of the course accessible from all folders and any future changes to the course will be reflected in all folders)
Click Next to continue
Enter the Details of the course:
- The Title is the name of the course that will be displayed in the list
- The Folder Name is the folder/path which will be created for this course
- The Course Type is only visible through the administration system
- The Owner is the user of the administration system who is allocated to process applications for this course. Users of the intranet can also contact the owner with queries regarding the course, see also adding a user to the course owners list
- The Objective is what the aims of the course are - this information is provided to users of the intranet when applying for the course
- The Content should describe the main content of the course (e.g. what topics will be covered)
- The Group Size is the number of people that can be enrolled in the course
- The Display Billing Details checkbox allows you to select whether billing details should be provided by users applying for the course
- The Active checkbox will be selected, meaning the course to be viewable on the Front End. If unticked, the course can be managed from the administration system, but will not be accessible from the Front End until you activate the course
Click Next to continue
Enter the descriptive information for the course (Note: all fields are compulsory)
- The Who Should Attend field describes the users who should apply for the course
- The Comments field displays any further information about the course
- The Cancellation field could describe when cancellations must be submitted (e.g. cancellation fees for canceling enrollment in a course)
- The Region and Location outline where the course is being held.
Click Next to continue
Enter the Price and Date for the course
- The Nomination Date is the date that nominations must be received by. You can select Date TBA if a date has not yet been decided.
- Either tick the Date TBA checkbox or select the course Start Date and End Date by clicking the calendar icon
- Either tick the Expiry Period TBA checkbox or set the Months Before Expiry and Years Before Expiry from the drop down selection, to confirm the interval between the course End Date and when the course should be archived. Read more about archiving expired courses here.
- Enter the Price for the course (Note: use numbers only) and the Currency (e.g. US$)
- Select Save as Template to add the new course to the list of available course templates
Click Next to continue
Click Add Document to add a document relevant to the course (e.g. you may have an agenda or checklist for attendees)
- Enter a Title to describe the document
- Click Browse to locate the document or enter a URL
- Click OK to save
Repeat this process to add further documents
Click Next to continue
Review the details, click Back to make changes, or click Finish to save
