The Heading Component is used to enter a style heading. The component allows users to insert a standardized header or title for their content. The advantages of using this component are:

Consistent content creation
Standardized styles and formatting

Text Entry

Text can be entered either by clicking into the white text area or by selecting Edit Content as shown below.

Styles and Formatting
The Heading Component allows for text to be styled with the existing iD Theme style for that subsite. Therefore, styling is consistent with the iD Theme and any changes to the theme will be automatically reflected in the styles and formatting of the Heading component.

Selecting a Style and Formatting
To apply the styles and formatting to text within the component, simply highlight the text and then select the desired style from the drop-down list as shown below. Styles and formatting will differ depending on the selected iD Theme for the subsite you are editing content within.

Component Properties

Authorized users are given the ability to edit the properties of the Heading Component. By editing the properties the authorized user can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component within the site.

The editing of the properties is divided into 2 tabs:

General Properties
Allows users to enable and disable general styling and formatting properties
Template Properties
The properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of a component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed.

General
General properties are related to the general appearance of the component within its nominated location. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Width
Default Value: 2px
The border width sets the border around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will not be added.

Justification - LEFT | RIGHT | CENTER
Default Value: Left
The justification of all content within the component.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom sections of the component's boundary.

Template
The Template properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited elsewhere. Listed below are the properties within the template properties.

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Inline Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component's content can be modified from the default content provided via the template.

Allow Removal
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be removed from the current location.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved to its current position (drag and drop).

Allow Sharing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use.

Available Styles
This property controls what styles are allowed to be used in the Styles and Formatting dropdown for this component.
