Front End

The default logo image is located on the iD Web Server in the theme folder: \wwwroot\images\general\logo.gif

You will need to replace this file with a replacement image that has been created previously. It is recommended that you keep the replacement image the same size as the original (W148 x H56).

This can be achieved using a combination of Notifications and displaying it as a News feed.

In the footer simply select Manage My Notifications and locate the My Notifications RSS Feed in the top left.

Get the link and specify it as an RSS news category.
Click here for more information on creating a RSS News feed.

Then place that as a News component in a page or layout

To direct Front End Users to a location other than the Home page, add them to a Website User Group which has a Default path specified, see: Adding a new Website User Group

Cause:

Users will be prompted to login in Active Directory mode if the browser thay are using does not pass through their Active Directory details to the web server.

Resolution:

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options

  2. On the Security tab, click Local Intranet

  3. Then click Sites, then click Advanced

  4. Add your site's URL to this list and click Close and OK

  5. On the Advanced tab, check Enable Integrated Windows Authentication

  6. Click OK and restart the browser

To allow multiple users login with the same Front End (Website) User Account, the Frontend Security Single Signin Config Setting needs to be enabled within The Admin of Intranet DASHBOARD.

  1. Go to Administration > Utilities > Config Settings > Settings Tab

  2. You can either filter settings to locate the setting you would like to modify, or scroll through the list of categories to find the applicable setting

    Category Front End Security
    Name Frontend Security Single Signin
    Code FRONTEND_SECURITY_SINGLE_SIGNIN
    Value True / False

Select the Frontend Security Single Signin Setting and change the Properties Setting value to True

  3. Click Update to refresh the setting

The Logo is a standard part of the Site Header, but can be modified so that it doesn't appear; follow the steps below:

  1. Create a transparent .gif image: 1 pixel wide and 1 pixel high

  2. Login to The Admin of Intranet DASHBOARD with superuser access

  3. Go to Administration > Subsites > Edit Subsite

  4. Click Edit for the applicable subsite

  5. Select the Subsite Header tab

  6. Browse and select the transparent .gif you created earlier, click Upload New

  7. Click Apply or OK to save

To enable password expiry on Front End User accounts the Fe Enable Password Expiry Config Setting needs to be enabled within The Admin of the system.

  1. Go to Administration > Utilities > Config SEttings > Settings Tab
  2. You can either filter settings to locate the setting you would like to modify or scroll through the list of categories to find the applicable setting

Select the Fe Enable Password Expiry Setting and change the Properties Setting value to True

  3. Click Update to refresh the setting

** Once a Front End User Account password expires, they will be prompted to change their password on Login.

There are two Config Settings which can be set that control the enabling of the Remember me checkbox on the Login screen:

Config Setting 1

Category Front End Security
Name Frontend Security Allow Persistent User Cookie
Code FRONTEND_SECURITY_ALLOW_PERSISTENT_USER_COOKIE
Type Boolean
Value True
Application System

Config Setting 2

Name                Frontend Security Persistent User Cookie Days
Code                 FRONTEND_SECURITY_PERSISTENT_USER_COOKIE_DAYS
Type                  Integer
Value                30
Application      System
Note: this config setting will only appear when the above config setting (FRONTEND_SECURITY_ALLOW_PERSISTENT_USER_COOKIE) is set to TRUE

The Frontend Security Persistent User Cookie Days Config Setting determines how many days the Remember me checkbox should be applied.

To set these Config Settings in The Admin please follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Administration > Utilities > Config Settings > Settings Tab

  2. You can either filter settings to locate the setting you would like to modify, or scroll through the list of categories to find the applicable setting

Select the <Setting> and change the Properties Setting value as required

  3. Click Update to refresh the setting

To set the Site Logo to link back to the subsite, the LOGO_LINKS_HOME Config Setting will need to be added. Follow the steps below to add this functionality:

  1. In The Admin of the system, go to Administration > Utilities > Config Settings
  2. Click Add Setting and enter the details

    Name Logo Links Home
    Code LOGO_LINKS_HOME
    Type Boolean
    Value True
Description Set the site logo to link back to the Home site
    Category Subsite

  3. Click OK and setting will be added

To do this you will need access to the files on the the iD web server. Edit the termsAndConditions.txt and privacyPolicy.txt files to add in your own information.

The default Location for these files are found in: \wwwroot\cfr\system\ within the install directory of iD.

There are 3 Config Settings that can be set which control the behavior of setting Strong Passwords on Front End User accounts.

To enable Config Settings, please click here for instructions.

The following rules for passwords are:

Code FE_STRONG_PASSWORDS_EXPIRY_PROMPT_DAYS
Type Integer

Application System

The Fe Strong Passwords Expiry Prompt Days Config Setting sets the number of days prior to expiry that a Front End user is prompted, eg. if the Properties Setting Value is set to 3, the user will be prompted to renew their password 3 days prior to expiring.

Every application that is subsite specific has it's own URL for each subsite. By providing users with this link, they can access the application.

For example, let's say you want a subsite to be able to access Forms Manager from the Home site:

  1. Go to the Forms Manager in the Home site on the intranet

  2. Copy the URL from the address bar

  3. In the Administration, go to the Nav Editor for the subsite. Create a new Root Node with the name "General company forms", paste in the copied URL and select to open in the current window

  4. Make sure the Nav Editor is on your subsite's Home page (via Layout Manager)

  5. When a user of the intranet clicks on this link, a new page will will be opened with General company forms
