User Profile

Add the User Profile to a layout so users can log in and out of the site quickly. It also grants a user access to her/his details, submitted & approved Online Forms, Pages, Events, and Notifications. A must for every subsite.

This process is conducted through the Front End of iD and will depend on the level of Security applied.

Introduction

The User Profile is a structural application that, if added to a Layout, Site Header or Breadcrumb Bar, helps each user reach information and content relating to them.

It can appear in the Breadcrumb Bar and/or on the Layout of a subsite and/or on the Site Header of your Layout.

When the User Profile is placed in the Breadcrumb Bar or the Site Header it gives the user access to with a drop down list of options to:

Publish - access the iD CMS folder for this subsite containing iD CMS pages
Library - access the iD CMS folder for this subsite containing iD CMS files
View their Profile
View and Manage their Content, including:
- Calendar events awaiting approval
- Online Forms that user has submitted or needs to approve
- iD CMS Pages awaiting approval or due to expire
- iD CMS Files awaiting approval or due to expire
Manage their Front End Notifications:
- Manage My Notifications / Remove Notifications
- Add Notifications
- Assign Notifications to other users (Full Control Users only)
Logout

When the User Profile is placed onto the Layout, it gives the user with a drop-down list of options to:

Edit their Profile
View their profile image
View their Activity Feed including the counter of number of items added since the last view
View their Channel Feed including the counter of number of items added since the last view
View their Private Group messages including the counter of number of items added since the last view

Adding User Profile to a Layout & Setting Up

Adding User Profile to a Subsite Layout

If you want to add the User Profile Directory to your layout, this is as simple as editing the layout then dragging the User Profile component into the desired location.

1. Go to the subsite where you want to add the User Profile.

2. Editing the Layout Live will take a cached copy of the current layout for you to work on (recommended).

3. From the Editing Toolbar, select Components > Site Framework > User Profile

4. Drag the User Profile to the desired location and drop it into position

Setting up the User Profile on your Layout - Review Options

Now that your User Profile is on the layout, you can customize the way it works. Here are the options.

1. To start, select the Options button > Component Properties

2. Now select the second option, ComponenT Properties
There is one setting available:

Display Login/Logout Link

This setting can be selected/deselected to alter the way the component appears/

Display Login/Logout Link: If selected, this allows users to login/logout

Adding User Profile to the Site Header

You will need to be logged into the Front End of the intranet to complete the following steps.

1. At the Home page of the subsite you wish to change select Edit > Live

2. Go to the Site Header component. At the right select the options button, then Component Properties.

3. The Component Properties pop-up will appear.
Depending on the order you desire, select User Profile from the drop down menu of either Add First Application or Add Second Application.
These items will sit side-by-side on the Site Header, shown further below.

4. Depending on the order of items you selected, the User Profile will now appear in the Site Header.

Please, login to The Admin to complete the following steps.

1. Select Edit Subsite from the Subsite Admin menu

2. Select the Breadcrumb Bar tab

3. Select Display User Profile and click OK to save

Please, login to The Admin to complete the following steps.

1. Select Edit Subsite from the Subsite Admin menu

2. Select the Breadcrumb Bar tab

3. Deselect Display User Profile and click OK to save
