Component Properties

The Site List Component enables authorized users to display an automatically generated list of links to all subsites, making it easy for users to navigate all areas of the intranet. Any updates performed to the list or subsites via the administration of the intranet are simultaneously reflected when the Front End site list is viewed.

The advantages of using the Site List Component are:

Provide easy access to specific subsites via a global list
Add, edit or delete links to external websites
Customize which subsites should appear in the site list that displays on the Front End of the intranet

The Site List is maintained via The Admin of the intranet. To edit the list, you must have administrator access for the applicable subsite via The Admin of the intranet. Click here for instructions on editing the Site List

Component Properties

Authorized users are given the ability edit the properties of the Site List Component. By editing the properties the authorized user can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component within the site.

The editing of the properties is divided into 2 tabs:

General Properties
Allows users to enable and disable general styling and formatting properties.
Template Properties
These properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of a component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed.

General
General properties are related to the general appearance of the component within its nominated location. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Width
Default Value: 2px
The border width sets the border width around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will not be added.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom sections of the component's boundary.

Template
The Template properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited elsewhere. Listed below are the properties within the template properties.

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Sharing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use within the site.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved to its current position (drag and drop).

Allow Removal
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be removed from the current location.
