Component Properties

Instructional Video

The Page List Component enables authorized users to easily create and display an index of iD CMS pages within a given folder, from any location across your intranet. Any additional pages added to the chosen iD CMS folder is simultaneously reflected on the index page.

The advantages of using the Page List Component are:

Simple creation of index pages
Assist users to locate all pages in a given area

Editing Content

Allows authorized users to select the iD CMS folder structure to display.

Select desired content and click OK

The Page List is displayed for the folder selected.

Component Properties

Authorized users are given the ability to edit the properties of the Page List Component. By editing the properties the authorized user can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component within the site.

The editing of the properties is divided into 3 tabs:

General Properties
Allows users to enable and disable general styling and formatting properties
Component Properties
Allows users to enable and disable properties that are specific to the Page List Component; e.g. specify how links are opened and how the index will display
Template Properties
These properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of the component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed

General
General properties are related to the general appearance of the component within its nominated location. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border applied around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Border Width
Default Value: 0px
The border width sets the border width around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will not be added.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom sections of the component's boundary.

Component
The Component properties are related to the specific component's visual appearance and functionality. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Index List
Default Value: True
The Index List property assists in the simple retrieval of pages that appear in the page list that is displayed. If Layout Type is set to either: Single Column, Three Columns or Three Columns Grouped, having this setting on will display a character list with each character linking to the start of the page name in the list. E.g. clicking on p will take you to the first page which starts with p in the list that is displayed.

Layout Type
Default Value: Table
The Layout Type property gives the user the ability to select how the pages will be listed on the page.
Table: will use a standard data grid with all of the filtering options
Single Column: will list all pages alphabetically on the page in one column
Three Columns: will list all pages spread over three columns
Three Columns Grouped: will list all pages spread over three columns, grouped by the first letter

Target
Default Value: Current Window
The Target property allows the user to choose how they would like the page list to be displayed. i.e. in the Current Window, or New Window. It is recommended that New windows are used for links to external content and Current windows are used for links to internal content.

Template
The Template properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited elsewhere. Listed below are the properties within the template properties

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Inline Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component's content can be modified from the default content provided via the template.

Allow Removal
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be removed from the current location.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved around to its current location (drag and drop).

Allow Sharing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use within the site.
