Template Properties

The "Must Read List" Components allows you to view Unread Items and Pending Confirmations.
You can also View My Must Read to check Must Read list, History and Reports.

The page explains the different display settings possible for this component.

Editing Content

Once the Must Read List Component is added to a layout or page, the component will be empty. It will not display data for Unread Items or Pending Confirmation.

Once the Must Read is set for any Document or File then the data will start displaying via Must Read List Component. You should also be able to view My Must Read.

Component PropertiesAuthorized users can edit the Component Properties of the Must Read List Component. By editing the properties you can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component.

The editing of the properties is divided into 3 tabs:

General Properties

Enable and disable general styling and formatting properties.

2. Component Properties

Number to Display: The number of items the user needs to read that is shown within the component, ordered based on due date/must read creation date.

Item Link Type: For the items the user needs to read, set whether the link should directly download/open the item or take the user to the preview/information screen, where they can see details about the file/item before downloading/opening it.

3. Template Properties

These properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of a component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed.

General
General properties are related to the general appearance of the component within its nominated location. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component for Administrators to see in Edit mode only.

Heading
Default Value: None
The title that appears on the live site above the Channel Component, e.g. Read All Channel Posts Here! If no text is entered, auto text for the selection will display.

Border Width
Default Value: 2px
The border width sets the border width around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will be added.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border applied around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom of the component's boundary.

Component

The Component properties are related to the specific components visual appearance and function. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Number to Display: The number of items the user needs to read that is shown within the component, ordered based on due date/must read creation date.

Item Link Type:

Default Value: Download

For the items, the user needs to read, set whether the link should directly download/open the item.

Value: Preview/Info

Takes the user to the preview/information screen, where they can see details about the file/item before downloading/opening it in our Light box view.

Template

The Template Properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited elsewhere. Listed below are the properties within the template properties.

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Inline Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component's content can be modified from the default content provided via the template.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved to its current position (drag and drop).

Allow Sharing

Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use within the site.
