Component Properties

The Company Calendar Component is used to embed calendar/s from a subsite. This functionality allows you to display the same calendar or a series of calendars in multiple locations within your intranet. Any updates to the original calendar will be simultaneously reflected on the Front End of the intranet.

The advantages of using the Company Calendar Component are:

Easily place calendar information throughout the site
Multiple options for presenting different calendar views depending on your requirements
Update Calendar events and have the changes reflected in multiple locations

Editing Content

Selecting which Calendar will Display
After dragging the Company Calendar Component onto the page, you will need to select which calendar will display there.

Edit the component and select the Existing Source from the tree view, as shown below. Click OK to confirm the selection.

After the Existing Source has been selected, a default weekly calendar view will display. This view can be changed in Component Properties, as explained below.

In this example, we have selected the 'Trainer's Meetings' calendar to display:

Component Properties

Authorized users are given the ability to edit the properties of the Company Calendar Component. By editing the properties the authorized user can adjust the available functionality and the look and feel of the component within the site.

The editing of the properties is divided into 3 tabs:

General Properties
Allows users to enable and disable general styling and formatting properties.
Component Properties
Allows users to enable and disable properties that are specific to the Company Calendar Component, eg. display formats including calendar overlays, navigation, dates and link to other calendars
Template Properties
These properties are set within the template and are not usually editable as they control the overall use of a component. For example, a component can be configured so that the component itself cannot be removed.

General
General properties are related to the general appearance of the component within its nominated location. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Name
Default Value: None
The name of the component, used as the identifier for the component.

Border Style - NONE | DOTTED | DASHED | SOLID | DOUBLE | GROOVE | RIDGE | INSET | OUTSET
Default Value: None
The border style determines the style applied to the border around the component. A style of none indicates that a border will not be added.

Border Color
Default Value: None
The border color sets the color of the border rendered around the component.

Border Width
Default Value: 2px
The border width sets the border width around the component. A width of 0 indicates that a border will not be added.

Padding - LEFT | RIGHT | TOP | BOTTOM
Default Value: 0px
The padding property specifies the padding that will be placed around the component. Specific values can be applied to the left, right, top and bottom sections of the component's boundary.

Component
The Component properties are related to the specific component's visual appearance and functionality. Listed below are the properties available for modification.

Display Format
Default Value: Basic Week
Determines the calendar view, which can be: Basic Week, Detailed Week, Basic Day, Detailed Day, Month, List Week, List Fortnight (each option explained below)

Basic Week View
Displays each day of the week in a single column. If there are events on a day, they will be listed in time order.

Detailed Week View
Displays each day of the week with an hourly listing of the event, as well as an All Day row for 'all day' events.

Basic Day View
Displays the current day only.

Detailed Day View
Displays the current day with an hourly listing of events, as well as an All Day row for 'all day' events.

Month View
Displays each day of the month.

List Week (version 7.1+)
Display each day's events vertically for 1 week

List Fortnight (version 7.1+)
Display each day's events vertically for 2 weeks

All Display Formats
These settings will apply to any display format you select for your calendar, eg. calendars to overlay, navigation, dates and links to other calendars (each option explained below)

Include Overlay Calendars
Default Value: Checkbox selected
Determines if the overlay calendars set up on this calendar will be visible here

Show Navigation
Default Value: Checkbox selected
Determines if the user can click through to other days, weeks, months in this calendar. If you deselect this checkbox, the user will only be able to view the current day, week, month you have selected to display (as shown below)

Show Navigation Deselected: Users can see the current view only

Show Navigation Selected: Users can click-through to other dates

Display Specific Date
Default Value: Checkbox deselected
Determines if the calendar should display a specific date. For example, rather than display the current week, you can display a date for next week or next month. If selected, also set the Specific Date to display

Specific Date
Default Value: No date set
Determines the date that displays in the calendar. If you wish to display a specific date, also set the Display Specific Date option

Link to Calendar
Default Value: Checkbox selected
Displays a link to the Full Calendar. If deselected, users cannot access the full calendar from here, to add or edit events

Month & Week Display Formats
These settings will apply if you are using the Month, Basic Week or Detailed Week display formats

First Day of Week
Default Value: Default (dependent on calendar display selected)
Determines the first day that will display. In the below example, selecting Tuesday will mean that this Basic Week display will start on a Tuesday every week

Detailed Display Formats

These settings will apply if you are using the Detailed Day or Detailed Week display formats

Show All Day Section
Default Value: Checkbox selected
Determines if the All Day field will display at the top of the calendar. If deselected, each hour will display.

Minimum Time & Maximum Time
Default Value: 00:00 - 24:00 (Midnight to Midnight)
If times are set here, then meetings during the set time will display only. For example, you can display office hours only ie. 09:00 - 17:00. Only events during these hours will display, the example is shown below.

Template
The Template properties are set at the template level and cannot be edited elsewhere. Listed below are the properties within the template properties.

Allow Property Editing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the properties of the component can be modified from the default settings provided via the template.

Allow Inline Editing

Default Value: True
This property determines if the component's content can be modified from the default content provided via the template.

Allow Removal
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be removed from the current location.

Allow Repositioning
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be moved to its current position (drag and drop).

Allow Sharing
Default Value: True
This property determines if the component can be shared for other users to use within the site.
